About Us – Deaf Action Uganda

Who Are We

Deaf Action Uganda (DAU) is affiliated to and in Partnership with Deaf Ministries International (DMI). It is a Christian Organization which was established in 1993 by a Norwegian-Australian couple Lill and Neville Muir. Who also are the founders of Deaf Ministries International.

It started as World Opportunity International; it later changed names to Deaf Ministries International Uganda and later changed to Deaf Action Uganda in 2013.

We are the leading non-denominational Christian Deaf Organization involved in the spread of the word of God to the Deaf people in Uganda.

We are a Christ centered ministry.

Our Objectives

The spread the good News of our Lord Jesus Christ, through Missionary work, establish and operate Deaf Christian churches and perform all of the functions of a Christian Church. These shall include, but not limited to conduct of Christian worship, Ordination of Ministers, Development and Organization of Regular Christian religious service. And establishment of Christian ministries e.g. mothers’ Union, Fathers’ Union, Children’s Ministries, and Youth Ministries.

To train and nurture strong Christian Deaf Church leaders, through operating a Deaf Bible Training Centre, to work in the Vine Yard and address all spiritual needs of the Deaf People.

Work in partnership with Hearing Churches and Hearing Christian Organizations, and other similar organizations within and outside Uganda. To empower the Deaf to reach out to the Deaf, with the gospel of Jesus Christ and support Missionary work.

To promote the education of Deaf people through partnership, sponsorship of poor Deaf Children, and Establishment of Deaf Educational Institutions like Primary Schools and Secondary Schools.

To promote Christian information Dissemination, through periodic newsletter publications, video shows, and Christian Seminars.

To raise funds through donations, commercial activities, and any other income-generating activities in order to support the objectives of Dead Action.
